Mukund leads the Austrade team across Southeast Asia covering 8 offices and 100 staff.
Previously, Mukund was the CEO of Asialink Business, Australia’s National Centre for Asia Capability, which was established with a mandate from the Australian Government to create an Asia-capable workforce in Australia through the delivery of capability development programs, market insights and advisory services to Australian organisations seeking to navigate Asian markets.
Mukund built his experience at KPMG advising on M&A transactions, joint ventures and strategic alliances between Australia and Asia in sectors including energy and resources, banking, agribusiness, education and information technology. He has also advised several federal and state government departments and agencies on economic engagement strategies for various Asian markets.
Mukund serves on the advisory board of Learning Creates Australia. He has previously served on CEDA’s state advisory council (VIC/TAS), Deakin Business School’s advisory board, and as a New Colombo Plan Business Champion.
Mukund is a qualified Chartered Accountant and received his MBA from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Sloan Fellow in Innovation and Global Leadership.
