Jean-Baptiste Nithart is Post Manager and Investment Commissioner for Austrade in Paris and Madrid. He has been in these roles since 2019. Prior to this, Jean-Baptiste was Austrade’s Investment Commissioner with areas of focus in:
Jean-Baptiste has worked for the Australian Government since 1995. He was first at Austrade from 1995 to 2002 in marketing and investment roles. He was transferred to Invest Australia as Investment Director from July 2002 until 2009. There he had global responsibilities for the Belgian, French, Italian and Spanish markets. He was transferred back to Austrade as Investment Director for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region from 2009 to 2012.
For 7 years prior to joining Austrade, Jean-Baptiste was the General Manager of a Paris-based multimedia company.
Jean-Baptiste is a French national. He graduated in 1988 from a Paris business school, with a major in international marketing. He is also a graduate of the Executive Education Programs of HEC Paris and Thunderbird University. He speaks French and English.
In 2013, Jean-Baptiste received an Australia Day Achievement medallion in recognition of his significant contribution to bringing foreign direct investment to Australia.
