Esther Sun

Esther Sun is the Trade and Investment Commissioner based in Bangkok. She is responsible for helping Australian businesses grow and connect with Thai international business leads. Her work involves offering valuable insights in the Agrifood, Education and Skills, Defence, Green Economy and Critical and Enabling Technologies sectors.

She has over 10 years of extensive experience promoting Australian businesses and building strong partnerships between local customer companies and Australian clients. This includes facilitating offshore in-market connections that positively contribute to the economic growth and prosperity of Australia.

Prior to her Bangkok posting, Esther was the Trade and Investment Commissioner based in Shanghai. She managed the Greater China food and beverage team and the delivery of the Australian Government’s agenda for the China International Import Expo (CIIE), China’s flagship trade exhibition.

Esther is an Australia Day Medallion recipient. She has been recognised for her work in developing effective business development strategies for Australian SMEs. This work was to help SMEs share their knowledge and insights and engage with regional specialists and business leaders.
