Elise Terrell is the Jakarta-based Trade and Investment Commissioner for the Australian – Southeast Asian (SEA) Business Exchange Program. She is leading the organisation of strategic and impactful business delegations to promote Australian and Southeast Asian capabilities across priority sectors.
Most recently, Elise was a Senior Adviser in the Austrade Strategy and Performance Team in Canberra. She contributed to Austrade’s submission to the Special Envoy on the SEA Economic Strategy to 2040.
Prior to Austrade, Elise worked in business consulting at EY, focused on improving customer experiences and organisational strategies for a range of government clients.
She also worked at the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C) where she led the organisation of elements of the Business Summit, a key component of the inaugural ASEAN-Australia Special Summit in 2018.
Prior to joining PM&C, Elise worked for d.light in Shenzhen (China) to expand their sustainable solar lighting solutions into new markets.
Elise holds a Bachelor of International Relations and a Graduate Certificate of Law from the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra. She is currently studying a Master of Public Policy at the ANU’s Crawford School.
