Daniela Assis commenced her posting as Trade and Investment Commissioner Beijing in December 2023. She is responsible for Austrade’s business development initiatives in infrastructure, services, resources and energy in Greater China.
Prior to this she was Trade and Investment Commissioner in Shanghai from January 2021 to December 2023 and in Seoul (acting) from 2018 to 2020, leading Austrade’s initiatives across a range of sectors, including energy (hydrogen and smart cities), education, health and technology.
During her time in Seoul, Daniela also managed Austrade’s Ulaanbaatar office in Mongolia, a role focused on promoting Australia’s mining capabilities and education sector.
Since her commencement with Austrade in 2013, much of Daniela’s work has been focussed on the Resources and Energy sector, with a focus on renewable energy. Daniela also has 7 years’ experience working within the shipping industry, including roles at Hapag-Lloyd Ag and Australian National Lines.
Daniela holds a Bachelor of Business (International) and a Masters of Business Administration, both from Charles Sturt University. She speaks Portuguese and Spanish.
