Catherine Hill is Austrade's Trade and Investment Commissioner for the Netherlands, Nordics and Baltics based in Amsterdam. Catherine is a trade and investment professional with over 15 years' experience in driving Australia's economic interests. Before starting this role, Catherine led on investment attraction strategies for circular economy, low-carbon liquid fuels and future transport for the European region. She has strong networks across government agencies, regulators and industry and successfully works with international companies. She helps international companies to leverage opportunities in Australia's low-carbon economy and support Australia's commitment to reducing emissions.
Before her role in the European investment team, Catherine contributed to the development of Australia's Tourism 2020 Strategy. During her 6 years in the Tourism Investment team, she worked closely with states and territories, Tourism Australia and local governments. Together they delivered on a framework aimed at boosting Australia's visitor economy through increased investment in tourism infrastructure.
Catherine has strong project management skills and an understanding of both European and Australian policy landscapes. This enables her to support Austrade's mission of connecting Australia's strong green economy credentials and enormous net zero potential into the European market.
Catherine holds a Master of International Relations from the University of Sydney. She speaks French and Spanish.
