Bryony joined Austrade in May 2023 as General Manager Middle East and Africa with responsibility for Austrade operations across the region including Pakistan. She also holds the position of Consul-General of Australia to Dubai.
Prior to joining Austrade, Bryony was Executive Director of Study Queensland for the Queensland state government’s investment promotion agency Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ). She also previously led TIQ’s strategy, performance and engagement functions.
At TIQ, Bryony was the executive leader responsible for delivering the Queensland government’s sponsorship program for Expo 2020, Dubai.
Bryony’s expertise includes an extensive range of executive management roles across the public and private sectors. She has experience in the industry sectors of construction and property development, health services and public housing, telecommunications, international education, and government.
During her time with the New Zealand government corporation Housing New Zealand, Bryony was responsible for delivering a transformative government policy – transferring $1.65 billion of public housing, including tenants, tenancy services, IT systems and processes, to a private housing provider.
Bryony has an Executive Masters in Public Administration, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Studies, a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media, and is a certified Change Practitioner.
